The Case
In our quest to think about and build ‘Engagement Platforms’, our team came up with the concept of Kochava under the premise that people who build apps for smart phones need to understand their users, how to better engage those users, and how to better track how those users are deciding to install the app.
The PivotGiven our experience in building smart phone apps for some of the largest brands and agencies, we were uniquely qualified to identify what was required to build a killer app - for app developers. Kochava has been an incubation project in that we didn’t build it for one of our customers. We built it for ourselves and as a mechanism to deliver ongoing value to clients as they launch their apps and understand how their ‘Mobile Empire’ is engaged with their brand. Our initial desire to build a platform for analytics and push notifications quickly expanded as customers took interest in the system. All of our existing mobile customers are already on Kochava and several Fortune 2000 customers have been adopting the platform as well.
The Proof
Kochava is the result of knowing what customers desire when they build mobile apps as a ‘tether’ to their own customers. Using our agile approach and having direct, operational experience in mobile has resulted in hitting the mark from day one as we released the platform.
Kochava was launched in August, 2011 and is already supporting apps across various industry verticals (games, entertainment, food, financial services, and editorial).
