The Case

If you have kids, or friends or neighbors with kids, you have likely been asked to help with one of their campaigns to raise money.  Whether it’s to support the state championship tournament, a cheer-leader trip to Florida, or the model UN field trip to New York, fund raising is common.  Loopah was founded to facilitate fund raising efforts just like this for schools, churches, benefits – or anything at all!  

After almost a year of gradual development, the team at Loopah approached MetaXpert to help them with two key elements: Accelerate development to get the product launched and design a visual overhaul to bring the site up to date and make it socially relevant and user friendly.
Because of Loopah’s unique model, schools and organizations adopt the use of Loopah for campaign management – but it’s up to the members or students to actually use the product and engage their family so that giving can happen.  MetaXpert designed the system to cater to the key needs of administrators with regard to reporting, tracking and control, while tailoring the front end to users who expect a ‘Facebook’-style interface and a viral adoption approach to raise money across a users social fabric.  On top of standard social features like friend invites and friend of friend (FOAF) connectivity tools, MetaXpert helped Loopah think through game-theory elements to enhance giving and adoption across the user community.  Lastly, because the Loopah system caters to a demographic that is both over and under the age of 13, the team had to build the platform with COPPA regulations in mind.

Released in March 2010, the Loopah fund raising system is the result of a fantastic UI redesign and development augmentation.  In addition to the redesign, the MetaXpert team significantly accelerated development to meet Loopah’s aggressive launch schedule for initial campaign deployments.
